The Spätlese from the Doctorberg already shows its noble nature and origin in the bouquet. Beautifully slate-spicy and smoky, with slightly yeasty notes and delicate fruit hints of peach, sweet apricot and a hint of candied lime. The sweet fruit seems rather slender and is somewhat restrained behind the imposing taut acidity. The extreme stony, mineral component transforms almost salty on the tip of the tongue and creates a refined arc of tension until the seemingly endless fruity, beguiling finish. The winery Wwe. Dr. H.Thanisch - Erben Thanisch is located in Bernkastel-Kues. The winegrowing tradition of the Thanisch family can be traced back to more than 375 years. Already in 1636 the name was mentioned in the church books of Bernkastel for the first time. Today the winery is managed by Mrs. Sofia Thanisch, the eleventh generation of the Thanisch family.
