Quality with Tradition

At the time, it was still in the hands of the von Beulwitz family and was later taken over by Ulrich von Fumetti. In 1982, Herbert Weis from Leiwen acquired the estate. Year for year, Weis produces first-class Ruwer Rieslings at Weingut von Beulwitz, which is located in Mertesdorf.

The Ring

The wine estate is a member of the Bernkasteler Ring, the oldest wine auction association on the Mosel. Weingut von Beulwitz is the only member with top sites on the Ruwer. It holds 7.5 ha of vineyards, including parcels in the top site of Kaseler Nies’chen. The emphasis is on high-quality Riesling wines.

Herbert Weis

In order to maintain the distinctiveness of the wines from top sites, Herbert Weis not only relies on his many years of experience but also on the most natural winegrowing possible. A strict selection of hand-picked grapes is a prerequisite for reflecting the terroir in the wines. Filigree Rieslings with a sense of place and a beautiful structure are the result of this gentle handling of the grapes in the vineyard and the skilful upbringing in the cellar.

Weis continues the almost 140-year-old tradition of Weingut von Beulwitz. All of these experiences and passions are reflected brilliantly in the Riesling wines of von Beulwitz and lift them to the top of the Ruwer Valley.
