Riesling Duty and Honor

In Saarburg and Ockfen, the Wagner estate has outstanding vineyards, including Saarburger Laurentiusberg, Saarburger Rausch, Saarburger Kupp, and the legendary Ockfener Bockstein, all of which make it possible to highlight the typical playful and light character of Saar Wine.

Old vines are trained in the traditional method on single-wooden stakes and are exclusively on steep slate slopes. All the vineyard work is done by hand.

After selective hand-picking, all the wines are carefully vinified in old oak Fuder casks in the largest vaulted cellar on the Saar.

The wines are a true reflection of classic Saar Riesling—elegant and spritzy, light and bright. Once the pronounced acidity and the palate have calmed down a bit and gotten used to each other, a love for life has usually grown. The delicately fruity Riesling wines show the special skill and sensitivity that make Dr. Wagner one of the leading estates in the region.
