Weingut Becker-Steinhauer has a winemaking tradition that goes back over 300 years. With a lot of knowledge and with even more heart and soul, Karsten Becker leads this Mülheim estate in the eight generation.
The estate’s vineyards are located in and around the town of Mülheim on the Mosel. The Becker family has sole ownership of Veldenzer Carlsberg, one of the smallest single vineyards in the Mosel wine region. Karsten Becker knows that a wine can never be better than the grapes from where it was grown. The emphasis is therefore on the careful treatment of the vines. Just weeks before the harvest begin, the grapes are regularly checked for ripeness and quality. The golden-yellow grapes are exclusively harvested by hand.
Especially in this day and age, hand-picked grapes is considered a trademark of high-quality Riesling wines. The fermentation of the musts is the work of ambient yeasts. The wines are raised in either traditional Fuder casks or in stainless-steel tanks. The filigree Riesling wines produced here are inimitable and always a special treat.
