The Spätlese Alte Reben from the Kanzemer Mountain is still extremely reserved in the nose. The aroma is strongly influenced by the yeast, presents itself reductive with restrained fruit of yellow stone fruit and dark berries. On the palate cool, light fruit with herbaceous and floral elements and a hint of dark berries. The body is delicate and shows a lot of race with finest acidity. But the basic tenor is an absolutely sublime stony-slate minerality. Still completely closed, needs time. But it belongs to the best that has grown in 2019 on the Saar!

The Saar is the largest tributary of the Mosel. The winegrowing area extends from Serrig to the mouth of the Saar River at Konz, as the crow flies about twelve kilometers upstream. The acreage of the Saar region is rather small with about 750 hectares. Nevertheless, there are numerous excellent vineyards, some on steep slopes.More wines from the region
