The Spätlese from the Scharzhofberg offers a fine spicy slate note on the nose with intense grapefruit fruit and delicately spicy herbal notes. The palate is juicy and animating with a very present acidity and a lot of mineral enamel. Distinctly spicy and penetrating fruit, accompanied by a great sweet-acid game. The finish is well balanced, with an accentuated fruit in the aftertaste and intense saltiness.

The Saar is the largest tributary of the Mosel. The winegrowing area extends from Serrig to the mouth of the Saar River at Konz, as the crow flies about twelve kilometers upstream. The acreage of the Saar region is rather small with about 750 hectares. Nevertheless, there are numerous excellent vineyards, some on steep slopes.More wines from the region
