One hundred percent of the grapes for the Wolfer Riesling come from the renowned Wolfer Goldgrube vineyard. The Wolfer Riesling has a crystalline clarity on the nose with the ripe fruit of apples, the floral notes of white blossoms, some red pepper and a very subtle yeast note in the foundation. Very dry and racy on the palate but with a beautiful fullness and broad complexity. The aroma is idiosyncratic, citrus fruit and a little wax, very lively with a very grippy mouthfeel. The fine stony minerality gives the Wolfer Riesling a beautiful draw with impressive length. Needs a little more maturity in the bottle to unfold all its finesse and full energy, but will then richly reward the patient!
In 1999 the Swiss Daniel Vollenweider dedicated himself to a dream: to run his own vineyard and to produce crystal clear, straightforward and yet deeply sensual Mosel-Riesling.All wines from Weingut Vollenweider
