The Spätlese from the Wolfer Goldgrube comes mostly from rootless Riesling vines, which were planted in the gray slate of the Goldgrube ages ago. On the nose, the Spätlese is very mysterious, complex and multilayered. Intense and dense on the palate with clear mineral shading. Seems infinitely deep, coupled with power and smoky minerality. Sweetness tastes delicate and is seamlessly woven into the delicately chiseled acid structure. Very elegant fruit play and a delicate hint of botrytis, adds finesse to the whole game. A truly charismatic beauty of particular nobility!
In 1999 the Swiss Daniel Vollenweider dedicated himself to a dream: to run his own vineyard and to produce crystal clear, straightforward and yet deeply sensual Mosel-Riesling.All wines from Weingut Vollenweider
