Vollenweider
Wolfer Goldgrube Riesling Spätlese 2019
The "Portz" section is situated in a purely southern location in the Wolfer Goldgrube and with its 100-year-old vines is one of Daniel Vollenweider's most valuable plots. The grapes harvested here are fermented spontaneously with natural yeasts. In the still somewhat closed fragrance, there are subtle aromas of oranges, bitter orange, kumquat, smoke and wet rock flour. The palate is met by a salty minerality, accompanied by a very pleasant bitter note. The playing sweet fruit is lifted by a very juicy acidity. In the underground slumbers a vibrating tension with a lot of mineral substance. A Riesling that combines strength with finesse and depth. It is already fun, but will richly reward the patient!
