With the 2020 vintage, the Daniel Vollenweider winery presents us with its first Riesling Kabinett from the Grand Cru site Kröver Steffensberg. And we are thrilled! The Kröver Steffensberg Kabinett is a bit more "well-behaved" (if you can even say that about a Riesling from Daniel Vollenweider) and more accessible than its counterpart from the Wolfer Goldgrube. On the nose, delicate playful fruit of yellow crumbly apples and some mirabelle fruit must. Juicy on the palate with well-integrated fruit sweetness and a nice grippy acidity. Taut in structure, tense and dense, but also ripe. The infectious minerality shows fascinating salty undertones in the long finish. A Riesling Kabinett with the best potential for long aging. And of course - completely Vollenweider! Uncopiable!
In 1999 the Swiss Daniel Vollenweider dedicated himself to a dream: to run his own vineyard and to produce crystal clear, straightforward and yet deeply sensual Mosel-Riesling.All wines from Weingut Vollenweider
