The Location Makes the Difference

The stony, deep slate soil is interspersed with quartz. The high proportion of fine earth and the extensive forest above the rocky outcrop ensure an excellent water supply. In dry years, the roots can draw from the water and mineral reserves down below. Due to the pronounced taste of the wines, Domherr can easily be distinguished from the wines of Goldtröpfchen. Domherr produces very aromatic Rieslings with a full body and ripe flavors. The wines often need time in bottle to fully show their potential.
