Erdener Treppchen

Between Heaven and Earth

Testimony to winegrowing during the Roman occupation has been proven by unearthing a press house from the third century AD. The Roman press house is located directly at the foot of the Erdener Treppchen. The site is located on the left bank of the Mosel River just downstream from Ürziger Würzgarten and directly opposite the wine village of Erden.

Thanks to the steep south-facing slope, the vines receive sun all day long. The site has various slate soils, including red and gray slate. The vineyard entails manual work and tireless diligence to achieve wines of exceptional quality. The Erdener Treppchen is exclusively planted to Riesling. The wines have great elegance.
