Abtsberg Riesling Spätlese 2020
The Grünhäuser Abtsberg was first mentioned in documents as early as 966. The mountain with its history of over a thousand years is irrefutable proof of the outstanding wine qualities of the Maximin von Grünhaus winery. The fruity Spätlese from the Abtsberg is reminiscent of a green, lush spring meadow with all its old overgrown fruit trees. Floral and fruity on the nose with smoky notes of flint, it is an olfactory emblem of this imposing vineyard. On the palate, lots of fresh herbs and tart black berries with their subtle bitterness. The blue slate gives the Spätlese a cool mineral touch. The acidity is delicately woven but very present, giving the Spätlese its lovely animating play. The delicately layered minerality shows plenty of smoke and slate. Leaves a lasting impression and belongs undisputedly to the top of the vintage! Great!
