The vineyard site Mülheimer Helenenkloster, just 1 ha in size, is solely owned by the Richter family. The vineyard faces south-west and has a very deep slate soil with a high proportion of loam and fine earth. The somewhat fatter soil allows for very vigorous and persistent growth of the vines. The vines remain healthy and resistant here well into the autumn, thus providing the best conditions for the production of first-class ice wines. The ice wine from the Helenenkloster shows impeccable purity on the nose. The fruity aromas of cassis, gooseberry, rhubarb and mirabelle are as pure and brilliant as sunlight. Zero botritys, just crystal clear clean fruit. Highly elegant on the palate with radiantly pure fruit. The acidity flashes and carries fruit and sweetness in fine balance across the tongue. A mouth filling ice wine with perfect varietal character, crystal clear and brilliant with exceptional freshness! Thank the gods!
