The Max Ferd. Richter winery is certainly one of the best addresses for fruity-sweet Rieslings. The fine fruity acidity of the Riesling is combined with great sensitivity with the beguiling sweetness of the fruit, which never seems obtrusive or overbearing. The Spätlese from the Juffer-Sonnenuhr already shows the greatest harmony in its aroma. The finest fruity aromas flow from the glass. The straightforward fruit of white currant, nectarine and star fruit are embedded in a tart floral herb bed. All nicely wrapped up with the smoky minerality of the slate. On the palate, inviting sweet yellow tropical fruit is underpinned by a delicate and filigree acidity structure. The fruity sweetness is perfectly balanced and kept on its toes by the agile acidity. Not sprawling in its structure, but elegant and contemporary. Shows complexity and a well adhering minerality. A light-footed Spätlese with zing and an expressive mineral finish. Beautiful fruity summer wine, already good to drink now and can be used individually!

Today, the traditional Weingut Max Ferd. Richter is run by Dr. Dirk Richter who is the 9th generation at the estate. Since the summer of 2012, his son, Constantin, is also working at the winery.
