Fuder Gisela, A.P. - n. 8 - The Old Vines come from the outer part of the Eucharistic Mount/Großschock. This part of the mountain slopes slightly funnel-shaped and brings more cold air during the nights. The vines here are very weakly growing and produce only very small grapes. This produces a firmer, cooler aroma and is reminiscent of flint and dried meadow herbs. The sweetness is almost tender and is carried by a sparkling, almost fiery acidity. A Kabinett with enormous pull and infinite depth.
Erich Weber—“Winzer Weber” (Winegrower Weber) as he likes to call himself—and his son Johannes are protagonists of classic Saar Riesling. They are radical winegrowers. All wines from Hofgut Falkenstein
The Saar is the largest tributary of the Mosel. The winegrowing area extends from Serrig to the mouth of the Saar River at Konz, as the crow flies about twelve kilometers upstream. The acreage of the Saar region is rather small with about 750 hectares. Nevertheless, there are numerous excellent vineyards, some on steep slopes.More wines from the region
