The 2021 Elisenberger Kabinett enchants as usual with its classic red and dark berry bouquet of cassis and ripe red berries. Excitingly charged on the palate with almost clashing acidity, suitably fruity balanced. Shows a lot of juicy, fresh tension with the best drinking animation and that with great lightness in alcohol and body.

The southwest-exposed core area in the main hill of the Trittenheim Apotheke is an extremely steep slope terraced with dry stone walls. It is a section that, due to the very steep topographical conditions, has been preserved in its original historical use pattern and is a relic of the former terraced landscape on the Mosel. On this striking rocky slope, Alexander Loersch harvests grapes with great physical effort from vines that still have no roots, some of which were planted in the rocky massif over a hundred years ago. The dry Grosse Gewächs from the Devon terraces shows only one element on the nose at the moment: slate, and that with convincing drama. Only after some time of aeration does a spicy herbal bouquet and a scent reminiscent of damp tobacco leaves rise from the glass. The first impression on the palate - lots of yeasty spice that goes hand in hand with a strikingly tart elegance. The powerful interplay of spice and minerality ends in a salty finish, an impression that is further enhanced by the finely integrated acidity. At the moment still untouchable, but will mature into a great wine! in statu nascendi !

Still a bit youthful and impetuous on the nose, the off-dry Kabinett from the Bernkasteler Badstube nevertheless clearly shows its origin! The wild, yeasty-mineral notes of spontaneous fermentation dissipate with a little aeration in the glass and make way for wonderful exotic fruit aromas, delicate floral notes of lilac and bright flowers. Fruity-fresh on the palate as well, with sweet-tart pressure and subtle native fruit flavors. The elegant mineral salt fits the style perfectly and is the perfect seasoning to the fine sweet fruit. Very animating finish with tart finesse and maximum drinking pleasure!

The Spätlese from the almost forgotten vineyard Wolfer Sonnenlay offers a wonderful bouquet of ripe pears, citrus fruits, smoky slate and flint. On the palate it is fruity-sweet, light-footed, juicy and delicate. In the long finish clear as a bell, very elegant and perfectly balanced.

The off-dry Riesling from the Pfarrgarten shows fine fresh aromas of lime, green apple and grapefruit in its beguiling slate-spicy bouquet. Elegant and intense on the palate. Shows juice and fruit but no saturating opulence. The acidity seems lively and very present, the restrained sweetness seems harmoniously placed and is refinedly integrated. A prototype of a off-dry Mosel Riesling that invites you to the next glass.

The Saarburger Laurentiusberg is the oldest vineyard on the Saar with original roots. Since 2017, this first-class site has been solely owned by the Wagner family. The dry Riesling from the Saarburger Laurentiusberg offers a refreshing floral nose with the finest fruit aromas of black berries, tart juicy apple and citrus notes. Fresh and crystal clear on the palate with plenty of juice and play. The chalky minerality is intense and persistent. Emphatically lean in alcohol, but plump with extract. The acidity is spot on and gives the fine juice a nice flow. Despite all the intensity, the wine remains light on its feet and buoyant. The refreshing acidic-citrus mouthfeel carries through to the long and juicy finish. An impressive dry Saar Riesling, delicate and fragile!
