Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese 2020

Fritz Haag

Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese 2020

Spätlese fruity sweet Mosel

The vineyard site Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr, which covers just ten hectares, is undisputedly one of the best sweet wine sites in the world. It is the core of the Brauneberger Juffer and guarantees the high quality of the grapes even in "demanding" years. Compared to the Juffer, the Spätlese seems warmer in its structure and sensory characteristics. The body shows a lot of juiciness, a ripe playful exotic fruit and an expressive floral bouguet. The delicate sweetness is well balanced and is the perfect counterpart to the finesse-rich acid structure. The fine herbal spiciness and the multi-layered minerality reflect the terroir of the Juffer-Sonnensuhr at its best. A polished beauty with elegant radiance!

Weingut Fritz Haag

The long-established and widely known Fritz Haag winery is located in the heart of the middle Mosel valley. The winery was first mentioned in documents as early as 1605. At that time, the place was still called Dusemond, which means “sweet hill” or “sweet mountain”. In 1925, Dusemond was renamed Brauneberg. This is a tribute to the color of the iron layers in the slate soils in this section of the Mosel river and was primarily intended to further establish the reputation of its famous vineyards “Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr” and “Brauneberger Juffer”.
