The Saarburger Laurentiusberg is the oldest vineyard with true roots on the Mosel, Saar and Ruwer. The vineyard was planted around 1870 in the middle of a rock massif directly on the banks of the Saar and planted with Riesling vines. The Saarburger Laurentius Kabinett is still somewhat closed in the nose and is characterized by yeast and the aromas of spontaneous fermentation. With a little air, delicate herbaceous hints and scents of pear, white peach, apple and cassis appear. The palate is met by an overwhelming acidity in play with fruity and tart nuances of grapefruit, candied lemon and minerality reminiscent of lime. The wine appears extremely racy, complex and deep. The vibrant aromas of fruit and white blossoms extend into the endless finish. At the very end, a few milligrams of cocaine-fine ground sea salt. A steely, pithy cabinet of a very large kind.
