Dr. Wagner
Ockfener Bockstein Riesling Spätlese 2020
WOW !!! ...there remains one first of all the spit away ... what a Riesling!!!! The Spätlese from the Bockstein is a prime example of the power and finesse this vineyard has to offer! Already in the nose impressively powerful and deep, the minerality seems already in the fragrance cool and salty like the evening wind that sweeps over a sea bay. Very delicate floral notes of noble flowers complement the powerful aroma. On the palate again extremely cool minerality with a very racy acidity. A dab of fine salt lies on the fruit. The beautiful and multi-layered aromatic structure extends into the everlasting finish and ends in the reverberation with the finest tart and mineral accompaniment! This is quite great Riesling cinema - we are strongly impressed!!!

Saar Region
The Saar is the largest tributary of the Mosel. The winegrowing area extends from Serrig to the mouth of the Saar River at Konz, as the crow flies about twelve kilometers upstream. The acreage of the Saar region is rather small with about 750 hectares. Nevertheless, there are numerous excellent vineyards, some on steep slopes.
