Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Auslese Alte Reben Goldkapsel 2019
The Piesporter Goldtröpfchen, reminiscent of an amphitheatre, is one of the top locations on the Mosel. On its soil consisting of slate and lots of fine earth with its excellent natural water supply, complex and multi-layered Rieslings with lots of fruit and spice are produced. The Auslese Goldkapsel is currently still showing a somewhat shy nose of almonds, marzipan and fruity hints of pear and pineapple. Only with a little air do exotic fruit notes of guava, pineapple, apricot and cassis present themselves. Deep in the glass, still somewhat covered by the fruit, earthy herbal nuances and slightly wet foliage. On the palate still completely undeveloped, but already shows smooth shine and aromas of honey, berries and raisins. Delicate floral notes complete the impression. The fine minerality shows depth but is still subject to the dominant sweetness. In the end piquant sweet spice with beautiful smoky elements in the aftertaste. Great made, but still needs a lot of time!
