The Erdener Treppchen is one of the few vineyard sites on the Mosel that can produce a Trockenbeerenauslese even in particularly difficult years. With its steep rock terraces rising to the sky in the mirror light of the Mosel, this imposing vineyard site offers the most magnificent conditions for noble sweet top qualities. Year after year, Christian Hermann has the great talent to select highly refined and precise Trockenbeerenauslesen from the Erdener Treppchen. The Trockenbeerenauslese from the 2021 wine year owes its delicacy to its lightning acidity, which always rebels when the fruit becomes too loud. On the nose, the TBA is stony and smoky with the finest botrytis spice with a hint of candied orange zest and lemongrass. Complex and rich on the palate, but not saturating, rather lively and demanding and that with fresh juicy exotic fruit body. Extremely expressive on the extended finish.
