Right in the heart of the impressive Piesporter Goldtöpfchen vineyard location, there are 5 steep terraces with Riesling vines still true to their roots. The almost hundred-year-old ungrafted Riesling vines provide the basis for this baroque-looking dry Riesling. Already in the nose the wine offers a compact and dense smoky minerality underlaid with fine aromas of peach, pineapple and apricot. On the palate it is juicy and opulent with lots of extract and a beautiful play of tart fruit. The ripe acidity is concentrated and precisely set. In the long finish an almost salty minerality with an intense herbal, finely spicy aftertaste. A masterpiece!

As early as 1897, Karl Heinrich Koch wrote in his book - In Praise and Price of Mosel Wine - that "Throners" are among the best growths on the Moselle. This statement is still valid today. The Spätlese from the Dhroner Hofberg from the A.J. Adam winery still vividly illustrates the high quality of this site. Only golden yellow, highly ripe and healthy grapes were used to produce the Spätlese. The wine presents itself with a yeasty-fresh nose with aromas of ripe fruit, peach, pineapple, pear and herbal nuances. On the palate, there is a youthful sweetness of exotic fruit and a delicate spiciness of willow herbs. The delicate minerality is supported by a very lively, almost demanding acidity. Animating finish with very good and gripping length. Not a powerhouse, but a Riesling with great elegance and finest fruit. The author Karl Heinrich Koch would certainly have had a lot of fun with it!

Real root! This is a word that is very seldom read in Europe. The vines in the Dhroner Häs’chen location were planted in the 1930s and are so isolated from other vineyards that the phylloxera did not make it to this vineyard. It is really something special as the majority of all grapevines in the EU have been grafted onto so-called American vines. The Häs’chen Kabinett was fermented spontaneously and the expansion takes place in stainless steel tanks in order to maintain that special freshness that this wine exudes now and for a long time to come. A very low alcohol level combined with this simply delicious balance of sweetness and freshness leaves no one in doubt that it is always good to have at least a second bottle of this wine in the house.

The dry Riesling from the Dhroner Hofberg shows a very elegant nose, clearly marked by a very finesse-rich slate minerality and slightly moist soil. The palate is met by an explosive, long-lasting acidity, accompanied by a mineral saltiness. The delicate exotic fruit is still almost hidden. In the finish delicate salt and some herbs. A dry Riesling between convincing drama and tart elegance. Well done!

The tub “In der Sengerei” is a parcel within the Dhroner Hofberg, on the Moselle, classified as a “Grand Cru” by the VDP. This part is located in the warmer front part of the vineyard and the grapes ripen with a completely south-facing orientation until late October. These factors create an extremely full aromatic Riesling, with a fine dry taste and a fruity, spicy aroma. The very concise acidity, in combination with the sweetness, is already quite balanced, so that the wine can be drunk without a guilty conscience. But even a few years of maturation will not damage this wine, on the contrary.

Old vines, 60 - 70 years old, with an average yield of 40 hl / ha from original vineyard terraces, let us pour a very concentrated wine into the glass here.If we should try to paint a picture of this wine, then imagine: A glorious sunny day, which we spend in a well-watered herb garden, which is fringed by the richest fruit trees. This fruit binge paired with the cool freshness of the slightly salty water source, which rises in the middle of the garden, and the many fine herbs that enrich the air, let us enjoy a wonderful day. And that over and over again, with each additional sip.
